David Moyes has opened up on a wide variety of topics during a revealing Fan Q&A for West Ham United’s Official Telecommunications Partner Lyca Mobile.
The manager talked about his love for visiting his home city of Glasgow, traditional East End pie and mash and his respect for his idol, legendary former Manchester United and Scotland manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and the other Scottish managers he will always admire.
Moyes also discussed what it is to be a Hammer, how it felt to win the UEFA Europa Conference League, what makes an Academy player ready to be promoted to the first-team squad, shared the advice he would give to up-and-coming coaches and revealed his ideal dinner party guests.

West Ham United agreed a multi-year extension of its partnership with Lyca Mobile, which saw them expand their partnership to include the Women’s team in August 2023.
East London based Lyca Mobile, the world’s largest international mobile virtual network operator, and West Ham United have been in partnership since the 2012/13 season.
Over the past decade, they have collaborated on multiple projects for the benefit of their shared local communities in east London and Essex including growing the long-running Lyca Mobile Cup to include a standalone girls’ tournament. Facilitated by the West Ham United Foundation, this tournament is now into its tenth year and continues to provide hundreds of girls and boys with the opportunity to play football and meet their Hammers heroes every year.
Through the popular YouTube series ‘Snack Wars' presented by Lyca Mobile, West Ham United and Lyca Mobile have driven awareness and discussion on a variety of topics, most recently shining a light on Ramadan and how players adapt their day-to-day routine to observe the occasion.
