West Ham United manager David Moyes and vice-captain Declan Rice have both won accolades at the 2022 London Football Awards.
At a celebratory evening at the Roundhouse in Camden, Moyes became the recipient of back-to-back Manager of the Year awards – having triumphed in the equivalent category last year – whilst Rice was named Premier League Player of the Year.
The duo were judged to be winners by a broad panel of football industry workers, ranging from former players to major footballing bodies and sports media, including Sky Sports, BBC, The Daily Telegraph, The Evening Standard, and talkSPORT.
For Moyes, a second consecutive Manager of the Year award was awarded following a record-breaking 2021 for West Ham, with the Irons collecting more points (73), more victories (22) and more goals (73) than any previous calendar year in the Club’s Premier League history.
The manager has also helped his side top their first-ever UEFA Europa League group, setting up a Round of 16 tie later this month, and pushed the Hammers to challenge for further European qualification this season.
Congratulations, boss! 👏

Moyes triumphed in the category ahead of Matt Gray (Sutton United); Marco Silva (Fulham); Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea); and Patrick Vieira (Crystal Palace).
Rice, meanwhile, saw off competition from teammate Jarrod Bowen to win 2022’s Premier League Player of the Year trophy.
The feat marked the second London Football Award of Rice's career, after being named Young Player of the Year in 2019.
"This adds to the Young Player of the Year award I got a few years ago - this is going up in the trophy cabinet for sure!" Rice smiled while collecting his award.
World class 🤩

The 23-year-old not only played a crucial role in West Ham’s recent top-six finish, progress in Europe and the Premier League, but also in England’s charge to the UEFA Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium, starring in all seven matches for the Three Lions.
Nominated for the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award last season, the midfielder has continued to progress rapidly this term into a world-class player, whilst further developing as a leader by regularly assuming matchday captaincy from close mentor and friend Mark Noble.

Also in Rice and Bowen’s category were three Chelsea players: Jorginho, Antonio Rüdiger and Thiago Silva.
In addition to Moyes, Rice and Bowen, three further Hammers received nominations this year: Łukasz Fabiański for Goalkeeper of the Year; Mackenzie Arnold for Barclays FA Women’s Super League Player of the Year; and Mel Filis for Women’s Young Player of the Year.
Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate the manager and Declan for their awards, and Jarrod, Łukasz, Mackenzie and Mel on their respective nominations, on a proud evening for the Club.
