Inspired by the Hammers’ East End roots, the striking change strip is a reflection of the Club’s community in the vibrant heart of London, celebrating the collective identity shared.
The new Cockney Kit comes in a black design, complemented by a Claret trim and incorporating unmistakably east London elements, with a graphic representation of the iconic St Mary-le-Bow woven into the fabric.
Legend has it that to be a true Cockney, you must be born in earshot of the Bow Bells – and the shirt also features a motif of this east London icon on its neck.
As the diversity of the community that hear those bells continue to evolve, this storied part of the capital becomes richer, the identity deeper, belonging to more, extending Beyond these Streets and inspiring our unmissable new Away Kit.
As part of the campaign, the Club has produced a launch film which showcases the characters and stories of people and places that make our community the vibrant, authentic heart of London that it is.
Celebrating the rich tapestry those communities create and collective identity shared, the film features Hammers men’s first team stars such as Mohammed Kudus and James Ward-Prowse, alongside east Londoner and Academy graduate George Earthy and women’s first team players Anouk Denton, Riko Ueki and Kristie Mewis.
Shot on location across the Hammers’ heartland – including in the shadow of the iconic St Mary-le-Bow church, Clapton’s Accra Palace Ghanaian restaurant, on Brick Lane and at Romford Snooker Club – and underpinned by a powerful poem voiced by rapper, author and Hammers fan Guvna B, the launch paints a picture of modern-day east London.
A festival of people, places, colour and attitude, this is our story told by the people who embody everything our community represents. Beyond These Streets.
