West Ham United Academy starlet Josh Briggs has been included in Northern Ireland’s 22-player U19 squad for two upcoming friendlies against Slovakia.
The 18-year-old defender recently captained his country’s U18 side during the Tri-Nations Trophy, where he came up against Club teammate Lewis Orford and England, as well as Morocco.
He will now look to further stake his claim for a place at this summer's 2024 UEFA European U19 Championship finals in the two warm-up clashes against Slovakia, at Seaview in Belfast on Friday 7 June (6pm BST) and Inver Park in Larne on Monday 10 June (6pm BST).
Boss Gareth McAuley is set to name his final squad for the U19s Euros, which are being hosted in Northern Ireland between 15-28 July, early next month.
