Jarrod Bowen has been named in Lee Carsley’s first senior England squad.
The West Ham United captain has been selected in the interim Three Lions manager’s squad for UEFA Nations League B Group 2 ties with the Republic of Ireland and Finland during the September international window.
Fresh from appearing twice at UEFA Euro 2024, Bowen scored his first Premier League goal of the season at Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And now the 27-year-old will have an opportunity to add to his ten caps, and potentially score his first international goal, when England travel to Dublin to take on Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 7 September.
Three days later, England, who were relegated from League A in the previous Nations League campaign, will host Finland at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday 10 September.
League B Group 2 is completed by Greece, who have named Dinos Mavropanos in their own squad. The 26-year-old has been capped 27 times since 2021, scoring two goals.
The Greeks kick-off on Saturday 7 September with a home tie with Finland at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, where Olympiacos hosted West Ham in last season’s UEFA Europa League group stage.
Mavropanos and his compatriots will then fly to Dublin to take on Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday 10 September.
Matchdays three and four will take place in October, and five and six in November, with the top finishers being promoted to League A, and the runners-up going into a promotion play-off.
Lucas Paquetá is in Brazil's squad for rounds 7 and 8 of the South American 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Brazil will face Ecuador on Friday 6 September at Couto Pereira in Curitiba, then travel to Paraguay on Tuesday 10 September for a tie at Defensores del Chaco in Asunción.
Brazil have made an uncertain start to their qualifying campaign, losing three of their opening six ties to sit sixth in the ten-nation table. The top six finishers qualify automatically, however, with seventh going into inter-confederation play-offs.
