West Ham United pair Vladimír Coufal and Tomáš Souček's unbeaten start to World Cup qualifying came to an end with a 1-0 defeat for Czech Republic in Wales on Tuesday evening.
The Hammers duo started at Cardiff City Stadium as Wales claimed maximum points thanks to a late header from Manchester United winger Daniel James.
Both sides ended the contest with ten men - the visitors losing Patrik Schick to a 49th minute red card, while Wales' Connor Roberts followed suit a little under half-an-hour later.
The narrow loss means Czech Republic now have four points from their opening three Group E games, having defeated Estonia and drawn with group leaders Belgium last week.
They currently sit second, a point ahead of both Wales and Belarus.
Elsewhere on Tuesday night, Conor Coventry wasn't involved as Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 with Qatar in a friendly international in Hungary.
