Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...
West Ham United produced a dazzling display to beat Leeds United 3-0 in the Premier League on this day in 1998.
The Lilywhites arrived at the Boleyn Ground in fine form in the league, having won their previous three matches, but they were no match for Harry Redknapp's rampant Hammers.
The home side, who themselves began the day eighth in the table, produced an inspired display to stun the Yorkshiremen in front of a jubilant 24,107-strong crowd.
John Hartson put the hosts in front inside eight minutes before Samassi Abou doubled West Ham's advantage midway through the first half. Ian Pearce completed the scoring on 68 minutes to secure a comprehensive victory.
West Ham United would end the campaign in eighth place, just three points behind Leeds in fifth, and one point off qualification for the UEFA Cup.
