West Ham United U23s suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City U23s at the King Power Stadium on Monday night.
A brace from experienced winger Demarai Gray was enough to see the hosts past Dmitri Halajko's young Hammers, who ultimately failed to make the most of their promising openings.
Gray put Leicester U23s ahead midway through the first half with a well-taken strike on the counter, but West Ham battled back to level through an Oladapo Afolayan penalty after Dan Chesters was felled.
As the Hammers piled on the pressure late-on, Gray pounced once more to fire low beyond Nathan Trott in the West Ham goal and seal the points for the Foxes.
