Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Basset & Gold...
John Moncur scored one memorable goal and made another as West Ham United scored a 2-0 Premier League win at Aston Villa on this day in 1995.
Midfielder Moncur sent a rasping long-range strike past Mark Bosnich to put the Hammers ahead within eleven minutes at Villa Park.
And the home fans' misery was complete two minutes after half-time, when Moncur took advantage of hesitant defending to race through and set up Don Hutchison to double the Irons' lead.
The victory took West Ham out of the bottom four and on their way to safety.
