Two West Ham United Under-23s matches in Premier League 2 have been rearranged in the new year.
The young Hammers’ trip to Manchester City U23s, originally due to take place on Monday afternoon, was postponed last week as a precautionary measure, with everyone’s safety and wellbeing of paramount importance.
West Ham U23s will now travel to the City Football Academy on Monday 8 March 2021, with a 1pm kick-off scheduled.
The development squad were also due to host Arsenal at Rush Green Stadium on Friday 8 January 2021, but this Premier League 2 fixture has also been rescheduled.
The U23s’ match against the junior Gunners will now take place on Friday 7 May 2021, commencing at 7pm.
The rearrangement means that West Ham U23s will, as it stands, conclude their Premier League 2 season with back-to-back games against Arsenal: away at Borehamwood FC on 30 April, then hosting them at Rush Green the following week in their final fixture.
Please note that all Academy fixtures will be played behind closed doors until further notice. Only key personnel will be admitted on site and matches will be played without supporters present, in line with safety guidelines and social distancing measures still in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
