On This Day: Kanoute rises high to head Hammers past Fulham

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Basset & Gold...

Frederic Kanoute was on target as West Ham United took the spoils from a Premier League derby at Fulham on this day in 2002.

The Hammers' impressive 2001/02 season continued with a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage, where the Mali striker scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time, rising high to head home Trevor Sinclair's left-wing cross.

Glenn Roeder's side, which also included the likes of Steve Lomas, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, Tomas Repka and Paolo Di Canio, went on to finish seventh in the table.
