West Ham United playmaker Pablo Fornals is feeling confident after his performance in the 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
The summer signing was making only his second Premier League start for the Irons, and grew into the game against the Red Devils with an industrious second-half showing which culminated in an 85 per cent pass success rate.
Speaking after the match, Fornals admitted that his confidence in his new league – and his understanding with his new teammates – is continuing to grow, and he is happy to put in the extra work on the training pitch to further this.
“I’m feeling good right now,” the 23-year-old told whufc.com. “At the moment I feel sharp. I’m linking up well with my teammates, and it’s easy for me to play well when this is the case.
“I’m an attacking player, and I came here to play. If I need to defend and run every match, I am happy to do this because I want to play.
“I want to stay in the team, but to do this I need to work, I need to train well, be consistent, and I’m sure that I can do this.”

Fornals also believes that the Hammers’ start to the league campaign – unbeaten in five matches, and up in fifth place – could herald great things should the side maintain their form.
He said: “It’s important that we stay consistent. We’re playing well and we have played some good matches recently.
“We’ve started the season very well. We need to continue to play in this way for us to stay up [near the top of the table].”
Fornals was making his first home Premier League start for the Irons at London Stadium, and was delighted with the raucous support his fans provided.
The Claret and Blue faithful were in fine voice throughout, and greeted Andriy Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell’s left-footed strikes in both halves with roars of delight.
“It was a great afternoon,” Fornals smiled. “Yarmo’s in a very good moment right now, off the back of his injury, and Cresswell from the free-kick was amazing.
“The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing. I had four friends and my girlfriend here too. Now I’ll ask them if they enjoyed the game, but [from the pitch] I think that the atmosphere was unbelievable!”
