West Ham United’s Amadou Diallo was amongst the starters for the England U17s once again on Tuesday morning. The Young Lions were held to a 1-1 draw by Spain U17s in Murcia in the final match of their three-game tour.
Karamoko Dembele had opened the scoring for England in the first half, but the U17s were denied victory in second-half stoppage time, as the hosts equalised through Miguel Rodriguez.
Diallo played 75 minutes in the friendly, with the fleet-footed forward having only returned from injury a few weeks ago.
The 16-year-old has enjoyed an excellent tour to Spain, finding the net on his England U17s debut in the 3-3 draw with Germany last week.
Diallo’s West Ham U18s teammate Jamal Baptiste was an unused sub in Murcia. The 15-year-old defender has impressed in showings for the U23s so far this season and started the first two fixtures for England U17s in Casa Blanca.
The draw caps off a memorable trip for both the West Ham youngsters with their attention now turning back to their U18 Premier League South campaign that resumes this weekend.
West Ham U18s host second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion at Little Heath on Saturday and Kevin Keen’s side will be looking to continue their positive start to the season.
