Loan Watch: Cullen helps Charlton to Doncaster draw

Josh Cullen played a crucial role in Charlton Athletic earning a draw away to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday in League One. 

The on-loan midfielder played the cross that saw the home side score an own-goal through John Marquis. However, Doncaster levelled just four minutes later. 

In the Championship, Jordan Hugill made a substitute appearance for Middlesbrough away to Wigan Athletic, although the striker was unable to break the deadlock in a 0-0. 

The result keeps Middlesbrough in the play-off places in fifth place, on 58 points, seven clear of seventh placed Derby County. 

Marcus Browne was the one West Ham loanee to experience a victory this weekend as the midfielder came off the bench to help Oxford United to a 2-1 win over Scunthorpe. 

Edimilson Fernandes and Toni Martinez also started for their respective loan sides at the weekend. Martinez’s CD Lugo enjoyed the better result, claiming a 1-1 draw against Oviedo. Fernandes and his Fiorentina teammates fell to a 3-1 defeat to Atalanta, despite scoring the opening goal.

Moses Makasi was a starter for Stevenage in Saturday’s fixture, playing in a more advanced role as they claimed a 1-1 with Oldham. 

Sead Haksabanovic played for IFK Norrkping in a 1-1 draw, splitting the points with AFC Eskilstuna, although the midfielder was substituted after 31 minutes of the match.
