Team news: Pellegrini names experienced FA Cup team

AFC Wimbledon starting XI

Manuel Pellegrini has named a strong starting XI for tonight’s Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie at AFC Wimbledon.

The West Ham United manager has picked a team containing no fewer than six full internationals for Saturday evening’s meeting with their EFL League One opponents at Kingsmeadow.

Adrian will start in goal, behind a back four of Michail Antonio, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna and Arthur Masuaku. Both Diop and Ogbonna netted in West Ham’s 3-1 Carabao Cup second-round victory over the Dons in August last year.

Mark Noble will captain the team and line up alongside Pedro Obiang in central midfield, while Robert Snodgrass and Grady Diangana will play on the wings.

Up front, Chicharito, who scored in the Hammers’ Carabao Cup visit to the same venue in August, will partner FA Cup third-round goalscorer Andy Carroll.

The bench will be filled by Lukasz Fabianski, the fit-again Ryan Fredericks, who returns after two months out with a shin injury, Declan Rice, Conor Coventry, Nathan Holland, Felipe Anderson, Lucas Perez.
