West Ham United striker Oladapo Afolayan has joined EFL League Two side Mansfield Town on loan until 2 January 2020.
The pacey 21-year-old forward joined West Ham in January 2018 from non-league Solihull Moors, where his goalscoring exploits invited widespread interest from an array of Premier League and Championship clubs.
Afolayan spent the latter half of last season on loan at Oldham Athletic, where he made ten appearances for the Latics, which included his EFL debut under then-manager Paul Scholes.
The highly-rated striker has been in fine form for the West Ham U23 side so far this season, netting in the Premier League 2 Division 2 season opener against Fulham and playing a part in all three goals against Reading last weekend.
Afolayan will now spend the first half of the season gaining further experience of league football at Mansfield Town, managed by the long-serving John Dempster, and could be in line to make his Stags debut at Exeter City’s St James Park on Saturday.
Everyone at West Ham United wishes Oladapo all the best during his loan spell at Field Mill.
