The shirt worn by Bobby Moore on his West Ham United debut – 60 years ago this month – will be put on display at the club’s four Official Stores in September.
The Claret and Blue jersey, which a 17-year-old Moore donned for his Hammers bow against Manchester United at the Boleyn Ground on 8 September 1958, will be available for viewing at London Stadium, Liberty Romford, Lakeside Thurrock and Eastgate Basildon.
Moore’s famous No6, which was retired by the Club in his honour in 2008, is sure to attract huge interest from supporters of all ages keen to get a first-hand look at the shirt worn by the Hammers’ greatest-ever player on his maiden First Division appearance.
The shirt, which has previously been displayed at London Stadium as part of an exhibition marking the 25th anniversary of the passing of the late defender and captain in March this year, is one of a number of special items which will be exhibited throughout the course of the 2018/19 season.
