Adrian: It’s a really important game against Swansea

Adrian is well aware that Saturday’s game against Swansea City is a crucial one as the Hammers look to take a big step forward in the table.

Three points against the Swans could lift the Hammers into the top half of the Premier League table as they head into the crucial final part of the season, but they also know that Swansea have the chance to close the gap between the two sides, so the Hammers No13 is concentrated on securing victory for his side.

Following defeat at Liverpool last weekend, the Spanish goalkeeper is keen to concentrate on the good run which preceded that as they aim to return to form.

“We need to get as many points as we can, as quickly as we can, It was a bad result against Liverpool and we didn’t play as we have done in the last few games, but that game has gone and now we have a really important one against Swansea.

“We have had many ups and downs in the season, we’ve had good games, but then we’ve had the bad ones too. Obviously we are trying to be more consistent, more solid, compact in defence as a unit.

“It’s a really important one for us on Saturday – it can either give us a big step forward in the table, or will mean we’re still in the fight.”

There will be one familiar face in the opposition team on Saturday when Andre Ayew lines up against the Hammers. The Ghana forward spent 18 months in east London before returning to South Wales and Adrian is ready for his challenge.

He added: “Andre will probably be really excited to play against us and he will want to score. We know him, we will try to defend his as well as possible and keep the clean sheet.

“We will tell him after the game ‘all the best’, but not on Saturday!”
