Noble: We're confident but not over-confident going to Fulham

Mark Noble says West Ham United will go to Fulham on Saturday feeling confident but not over-confident.

The Hammers travel to Craven Cottage seeking a fourth Premier League win in a row for the first time in nearly five years, having defeated Newcastle United, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace and scored nine goals in the process.

Fulham, in contrast, sit bottom of the table with two wins from 16 games played this season, but the captain is experienced enough to know Claudio Ranieri’s side will be no pushovers.

Indeed, West Ham have lost on each of their last two visits to west London and the No16 knows they will need to be at their best to overcome a Cottagers side desperate to win the three points themselves.

However, with Manuel Pellegrini’s positive philosophy bringing positive results in recent weeks, Noble is full of belief that the Irons can make it four top-flight victories in succession.

“As players, we’re feeling confident after three successive Premier League wins although we’re under no illusions that Saturday’s game at Fulham will be anything but difficult,” said the 31-year-old, who extended his contract until 2021 earlier this week.

“The last time we won four in a row in the Premier League was in February 2014. I recall we were down in 18th spot when we beat Swansea 2-0 and then followed that with victories over Aston Villa, Norwich and Southampton. By the time we ended that run we were up in tenth place!

“The manager sets us up to win in every game we play and Fulham at Craven Cottage will be no exception.”

*Saturday’s game will be screened live in the UK by BT Sport 1, with kick-off at 5.30pm. You can also follow the action via the West Ham United App, on whufc.com and across the club’s social media channels.
