West Ham United U23s' Premier League International Cup campaign came to an end on Tuesday night when they were beaten 3-0 by Southampton at Staplewood.
Two first half goals by Tyreke Johnson and Marcus Barnes all-but secured the win for the Saints, who bagged a third after the break when Nathan Trott failed to prevent an inswinging corner hitting the back of the net.
The goalkeeper soon made up for his error, smartly saving a penalty but the Hammers could not find a way back into the match and exited the competition in the group stages.
