Andy Carroll says the increase in London Stadium capacity to 60,000 can only serve as inspiration for the Hammers in the New Year.
Carroll paid tribute to the fans for their part in helping drag the team back from 1-0 down to defeat Crystal Palace 3-2 on Saturday and now cannot wait to hear the backing of another 3,000 members of the Claret & Blue Army from the 2 January visit of Brighton & Hove Albion.
The striker came off the bench as Manuel Pellegrini’s men secured a third straight win and wants to reward the West Ham supporters with more thrilling afternoons at London Stadium.
"It’s great news that we’re moving up to a 60,000 capacity,” he said. “The fans were brilliant for us in Saturday’s win against Crystal Palace, so to have 3,000 more would be even better and even louder.
“That’s what the lads love, and that’s what they like to hear. It was great on Saturday.
“Throughout the game they were fantastic, even when we went 1-0 down. When we came out for the second half there was a big roar straight away and it showed that the fans were right behind the lads.
“It’s a big boost for us and hearing that is massive.”
