West Ham United legend Alvin Martin can’t wait to hear the roar of 60,000 inside London Stadium.
The three-time Hammer of the Year, who played 596 games in the Claret & Blue between 1978-96, is a regular back at his old club and is looking forward to seeing what Manuel Pellegrini’s men can produce with the backing of 3,000 more fans in their home.
The Club have announced that Half-Season Tickets will go on sale this week, giving even more Hammers supporters the opportunity to see their team in action at London Stadium.
Martin said: “The games are selling out, so the more space you’ve got, the more bums [can be] on seats, which creates a better atmosphere.
“I never really celebrated too many goals because I was only really happy when I walked off the pitch and I knew we had won the game.
“Walking off at a stadium like this, with a full house after a good performance, that’s the moment I miss.
“The fans have always wanted to see effort, they’ve always wanted to see fight within their team. If you give them that first and foremost, they will come.
“They want to see that you’re committed to the badge and I think they are seeing that now.”
