Issa Diop says the prospect of playing in front of 60,000 supporters at London Stadium was among the reasons he joined West Ham United.
The France U21 made the switch from Ligue 1 club Toulouse in the summer and has made an impressive impact in his opening dozen appearances in Claret and Blue shirt.
Diop was outstanding in home games with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur and confirmed the roar of the crowd played a part in his fine performances.
With the Irons soon be able to increase the matchday capacity at their Stratford home to 60,000 after reaching an agreement with London Stadium landlords E20, that crowd is set to grow even larger and louder.
“Since I moved to England in the summer the West Ham supporters have been fantastic,” the 21-year-old confirmed. “I cannot speak for other clubs but I think we have the best fans!
“The atmosphere at London Stadium is something very special. The noise at some of the matches has been incredible and with more of our supporters soon added it will be even better.
“This is the reason I wanted to play in the Premier League and for a club like West Ham United. For myself, this is a big motivation, to play in one of the biggest and best stadiums in England and hopefully achieve success.”
