Valencia's Ecuador reach Copa quarters

Enner Valencia scored one and set up two as Ecuador thrashed Haiti 4-0 to qualify for the 2016 Copa America quarter-finals on Sunday night.

Ecuador's victory, combined with Brazil's shock 1-0 defeat by Peru, saw Valencia and company finish second behind the Peruvians in Group B and qualify for the last-eight.

The West Ham United forward continued his fine run of form with another impressive display for El Tri, putting the South Americans ahead in the ninth minute at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Christian Noboa played in the West Ham striker and he made no mistake in dispatching the ball past goalkeeper Johnny Placide.

Just nine minutes later, Valencia turned provider when he collected a long ball from Walter Ayovi, beat defender Romain Genevois, drew Placide and set up Jaime Ayovi to tap into an empty net.

Ecuador went further ahead when Noboa met Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero's cross on the half-volley and they wrapped it up 12 minutes from time when Hammers star Valencia beat the offside trap and assisted namesake and Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia to fire home.
