Moses set for emotional return

Victor Moses is preparing for an emotional return to Anfield, but says he will put all his friendships to one side

Victor Moses is preparing for an emotional return to Anfield, but says he will put all his friendships to one side as he hopes to help steer the Hammers into the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round.

Moses enjoyed a season-long loan with Liverpool back in 2013/14 and having missed the trip to Merseyside earlier in the season, the Nigerian international is now hoping to put one over his former team-mates.

The 25-year-old forged close relationships with several of the first-team squad at Anfield and relished the chance to play in front of the Kop every week.

But he is now determined to help the Hammers have a lengthy run in the competition and will be doing everything he can to help them come away with a victory.

Moses said: “It will be nice for me to go back to Liverpool and it will be my first time back at Anfield since my loan spell there.

“When we played up there earlier in the season, it was just before I signed for the club but it was a great victory for the Club.

“I have still got a lot of good friends up there like Coutinho, Sakho, Sturridge but I will have to put that friendship to one side when we face them.

“After the game we can shake hands, but the football comes first and we will be looking to reach the next round.

“It is not out of the question that we could win the FA Cup and finish in the top four this season.”
