After putting in a terrific display against Italian giants Juventus on Sunday 7 August, West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen has re-joined League One side Bradford City on a five-month loan.

Last term, Cullen made 18 appearances for the West Yorkshire side as they reached the Play Off semi-finals.

This time around, Cullen is hoping to complete the job and win promotion: “We were close to promotion to last year, so for me it feels a bit like unfinished business.

“I had a good relationship with all the lads at the Club. They’ve got a new manager now so I’m looking forward to getting up there and introduce myself and getting to know them. I really want to strike up a good relationship and push on and get promoted.

“The aim for the Club, the size of the stadium and the number of fans, they deserve to be in the Championship so hopefully I can help them achieve that.”

Prior to re-joining, Cullen more than held his own against some of the best players in Europe, as he played 82 minutes of the narrow 3-2 defeat to Juventus.

Pitting himself against the likes of Roberto Pereyra, Miralem Pjanic and Paolo Dybala, Cullen reflected on one of his career highlights, saying: “It was an incredible feeling walking out in the new stadium, an impressive arena and hearing all the fans singing Bubbles, it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It was a moment I’ll never forget.

“I was relishing it as soon as I heard I was starting, I was buzzing to get out there and test myself against Europe’s elite.

“Without a doubt that’s the best team I’ve played against, they’re the Italian champions and a big force in Europe. Some of the player’s they’ve got are world class so it was great to test myself because that’s where I want to get to.”
