Lanzini - We're positive

Manuel Lanzini says the Hammers will approach Wednesday's FA Cup replay with confidence
Manuel Lanzini feels there are plenty of positives to take from the 3-3 draw with Arsenal, with the Hammers showing plenty of character and commitment to get themselves back in the game having trailed by two.

As the game went on, the Argentine fought well against a strong Arsenal midfield and tried to drive the side forward on the break.

Lanzini told whufc.com: “When you go 2-0 down in the first half, you know that it is always going to be difficult to come back to get something out of the game. But we then started to move the ball around a bit better and things got better.

“It was very end to end and the balance shifted between the two sides during the game. We were up against a good side with a talented midfield and we knew that before the game.

"We knew that we needed to break up their rhythm, but at first, we didn’t manage to do that and that’s why we struggled a bit. When we were able to break up their movement, we got ourselves back into the game and into a position to at least draw the game.

“The team showed a lot of character to get a point from the game. It is slightly frustrating that we weren’t able to take the three points, but on the whole, I think we take a lot of positives from it and we will now concentrate on Wednesday’s cup game against Manchester United."
