Green Street Goals!

Cheikhou Kouyate has given the Claret and Blue Army plenty of reasons to celebrate since joining West Ham United in summer 2014.

However, the Senegal midfielder’s finest moment arguably came in the Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester United in February 2015.

Kouyate’s outstanding control, skill, spin and finish past David De Gea fired the Hammers into the lead against the Red Devils, sending the Boleyn Ground into a state of delirium.

The No8 took to the pitch with West Ham TV to talk fans through his strike in the latest of our insightful Green Street Goals! features.

“It was a fantastic goal,” he smiled. “We had a free-kick out there and Mark Noble put the ball in and I came to the edge of the box and Diafra Sakho told me ‘Don’t go offside!’ and I said ‘It’s OK’.

“I went for the header but I lost the ball so I used one skill, two skill and then the volley!”
