FT: Dev Squad 2-2 Newcastle United U21

FT: Development Squad 2-2 Newcastle United

That's the final whistle. The Hammers will have to settle for a point. We'll bring you exclusive reaction very shortly, so stay tuned! A big thank you to all the fans who turned up tonight! We hope to see you again soon. COYI!

89: Late drama here. West Ham have a penalty! Belic does ever so well to get the ball before Pearson and he's wiped out. Somehow it's not a red card but no matter as Martin Samuelsen steps up and slots it home coolly. 2-2.

88: Goal for Newcastle! Absolute sickener. Callum Roberts does well to burst through the defence and place a shot past Spiegel. 1-2.

87: Manny Onariase does superbly well to breakdown a two-on-one attack.

85: The Magpies are piling on the pressure! Spiegel is once again called into action as he denies Dan Ward. The youngster was flagged for offside but Spiegel was none the wiser and made the save look easier then it was.

84: As legs begin the tire the game has certainly become increasingly scrappy. Samuelsen's defensive abilities are tested but he comes through flying colours with an inch perfect sliding tackle. He had to get that right otherwise it was stonewall penalty.

80: Newcastle role the dice with a rafter of changes. On come Gael Bigirimana and Liam Gibson.

75: Callum Roberts disposesses Onariase on the half-way and shoots! Thankfully it falls harmlessly wide.

70: Amos Nasha is on in place Parfitt-Williams. Can the Hammers find that deserved winner?

66: Superb full-back play from Kyle Knoyle. He runs 40 yards with the ball, from the touchline into the six yard box and is only halted by a last ditch tackle.

64: The game is becoming increasingly stretched. The Hammers are on top but Newcastle are enjoying the odd half-chance.

62: Michail Antonio is replaced by Lewis Page. A very encouraging performance from the big man. Likewise, it's great to see Lewis Page back on a football pitch! A welcome return to action since picking up an injury.

57: Antonio does superbly to burst past three men as though they're not there. He tries to feed Belic but the ball just slips away from him.

54: Belic has wasted no time getting involved. His looping header falls narrowly over. It looks like he's got a bit about him!

46: Luka Belic comes on to make his West Ham United debut. He's on in place of the goalscorer Jordan Brown.

46: We're almost ready to get back underway. There's a really great atmosphere inside the Boleyn, and what's more the rain has stopped too. The Dev Squad are greated to a heroes welcome as they come out for the second period. A massive rendition of Bubbles too!

HT: That's the half-time whistle, somehow the young Hammers have only scored once.

44: Somehow the Dev Squad have only scored once. The amount of chances they've had is unbelivable! If it stays like this, surely just a matter of time! Toney is booked for a late challenge on Onariase.

38: Seconds later Marcus Browne also goes close from distance. He's had an excellent game so far.

37: George Dobson goes close to restoring the lead with a powerful drive. Excellent effort from the young midfielder.

32: Goal for Newcastle. Ivan Toney capitalises on a moment of indecision and rolls the ball home. 1-1.

31: Marcus Browne is at it again and he almost doubles the Irons' advantage. He does well to get goalside but can't beat Pearson.

29:
Superb save from Raphael Spiegel to deny Ivan Toney from close range. That looked like a certain goal.

28: Free-kick to the Hammers in a dangerous position. It's swung in and Onariase rises highest yet Pearson foes well to get a firm glove on it. Antonio tries an audacious volley from 30-yards but it falls just wide.

24: Seconds later Newcastle go on their first attack of the game. Leo Chambers' sliding challenge does enough to put Sean Longstaff off but Raphael Spiegel is still called into action, diving at the striker's feet.

23: Brown bares down on goal but his ball into Parfitt-Williams has just too much on it.

18: Excellent free-flowing move! It starts with Samuelsen, who spins it to Parfitt-Williams. He flicks it majestically to Brown. His lay off to Antonio is an inviting one and the powerful winger winds up a shot that Pearson gets down to quickly.

16: The onslaught continues as Djair Parfitt-Williams looks to curl a shot into the top corner however he hits it slightly to close to Pearson who clutches it gratefully.

12: Close! Antonio races down the left-flank, gets to the byline and squares it to Brown. He connects well but it falls inches wide. Still 1-0.

10: Samuelsen dances past three, four opponents but is eventually tackled. The ball falls to Marcus Browne, on the edge of the area, who can't help himself but shoot. It doesn't quite work but you can't blame the youngster!

8: The Hammers are continuing to put the Magpies under pressure. They're knocking it round nicely, Onariase's ball to Brown is intercepted in the knick of time.

5: GOAL for the Hammers! Jordan Brown runs onto a slotted through ball to finish calmly past Brendan Pearson. Just the start the Dev Squad would have wanted! 1-0.

3: Intelligent possession football at the back between Manny Onariase and Leo Chambers quickly turns into attack as they look to set Kyle Knoyle down the right flank.

1: Bright start from the Hammers as Michail Antonio looks hungry. Martin Samuelsen is also buzzing about.

Here they come! The rain is tumbling down but it hasn't stopped an impressive number of fans from making the journey. Excellent support for youth football!

Meanwhile, tonight's opponents Newcastle United haven't fared much better, picking up a solitary point from their opening three games. Anything could happen tonight!

The young Hammers are looking to record their first win of the season tonight, however they are in good goalscoring form as they netted three excellent strikes away at Blackburn Rovers last week.
