The Development Squad travel to Lancashire to play Blackburn Rovers on Monday evening
West Ham United’s Development Squad travel to Blackburn Rovers on Monday night with both sides looking for their first wins of the new season.
Despite dominating their opening game against West Brom, the young Hammers somehow lost before being edged out by Aston Villa and Arsenal.
Monday’s hosts, Blackburn Rovers have also struggled meanwhile, scoring just once in three games – a valuable 1-1 away draw at Newcastle United.
So far, Academy Manager Terry Westley has fielded mixed strength sides from Argentine livewire Manuel Lanzini and fellow first team squad members Diego Poyet and Reece Burke to handing U21 debuts to highly rated youngsters Declan Rice, George Dobson and Marcus Browne.
As the Dev Squad are in action on the same evening as the first team host Newcastle United at the Boleyn Ground, Westley is likely to deploy another young side against the Lancashire outfit.
The Development Squad play Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Monday 14 September, kick off is 7pm.
