Classic match
West Ham United 7-0 Liverpool
Division One
1 September 1930
West Ham United recorded an incredible 7-0 win over Liverpool on this day 85 years ago.
The Hammers defeated the Reds 4-1 at the Boleyn Ground the previous season, and they would go on to even better that result with a ruthless display.
Vic Watson scored four of the goals - he would notch 14 in only 18 league games that season - to do most of the damage.
Watson, who scored 326 goals in a fruitful Hammers career, scored 13 hat-tricks in his time at West Ham.
Stan Earle also got in on the act with two goals, while Wilfred James' strike completed the Hammers' tally of seven.
