England 0-1 Italy
International Friendly
14 November 1973
Bobby Moore won his 108th and final England cap in international friendly against Italy 42 years ago today.
The legendary Hammers defender had become England's most capped player in his previous appearance, overtaking Bobby Charlton's record, and his mark stood until Peter Shilton went on to win 125 England caps.
Moore's international career included leading the country to World Cup glory in 1966, as well as a quarter-final appearance four years later.
Although he could not bow out with a victory, Moore's legacy as one of the greatest players to pull on and England shirt is clear.
