West Ham United 5-2 Coventry City
Division One
14 March 1969

Geoff Hurst helped the Hammers to extend their unbeaten run to six matches with two goals in a convincing win against Coventry City.

The striker was on target from the penalty spot twice against the Sky Blues as the home side continued their fine form in Division One.

Hurst's brace was supplemented by goals from John Sissons, Martin Peters and Billy Bonds as the Hammers hit five in front of over 29,000 fans at the Boleyn Ground.

The three points maintained the Hammers in sixth place in the table, although by the end of the season they had dropped to eighth.
