Sam Allardyce is delighted that Winston Reid has put pen-to-paper on a new six-and-a-half year deal.
Speculation had been rife that the 26-year-old could leave the Club this summer, but the New Zealand captain has now committed his future to the Hammers - and Big Sam says it will be a bright future both for the Club and the player.
He said: "If you look at where the Club's going, to the new Stadium, and even though we've slipped a bit we've had a great season until now, securing his signing is good.
"It will also save the Club an awful lot of money in the transfer market in the summer to replace him if he left.
"It's very good business for us and very good from Winston's point of view, because I don't think he's been anything but happy here in the last few years and he's shown that by signing."
