Enner Valencia is likely to feature in the Copa America opener against Chile
Enner Valencia is preparing for the opening game of the Copa America as his native Ecuador are set to play hosts Chile at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago on Friday 12 June.
Ecuador appear to be in good goalscoring form, strolling to a 4-0 win over Panama on Saturday 6 June, the West Ham United striker helping to set up the second.
Hosts Chile are tipped as one of the favourites to lift the trophy, with world class talent such as Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal as well as enjoying the benefit of home advantage.
However, the South Americans have had a mixed bag on form in the run up to the competition, slipping to defeats to Brazil and Iran before winning their last warm-up match 1-0 over El Salvador.
Mexico and Bolivia make up the rest of Group A.
The match kicks off at 12.30pm local time (4.30 BST) on Friday 12 June in Chile’s national stadium.
