Boleyn Insider

The matches are certainly coming thick and fast for the Club at the moment and Slaven Bilic is now preparing for three games in just six days.

I understand that the hard work is continuing behind the scenes to bring in more new signings and despite Manuel Lanzini becoming the eighth new arrival last week, I believe that more new faces will be heading to the Boleyn Ground before the start of the season.

With Andy Carroll set to miss the start of the season and Enner Valencia only just returning to pre-season training, my sources have told me that signing another striker remains top of the priorities.

My understanding is that the Club have held a lot of tough negotiations to land their main targets and remain hopeful that they can secure a transfer in the next few weeks.

There have been a lot of stories over the weekend linking the club with moves for Alen Halilovic, Mario Lemina and Federico Mancuello, but I believe there is nothing imminent on any of those deals.

However, I have been told that the Club are still considering a move to sign Barcelona midfielder Alex Song and are hopeful that a deal can be finalised before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
