Video: Noble - We need to finish the job

The matches continue to come thick and fast for Mark Noble and West Ham United, with the Londoners travelling to Malta to take on Birkirkara in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League second qualifying round tie on Thursday.

Noble played the 90 minutes last week as Slaven Bilic's side secured a first leg advantage thanks to James Tomkins' 90th minute goal.

That was only the second game Noble had played after returning from the Hammers' training camp in Cork, so he is relishing the prospect of more game time as he aims to make progress in Europe.

"We're looking forward to the game on Thursday," the No16 said. "Obviously it's another competitive game even though we're still in pre-season.

"Last Thursday was only our second game we've played in pre-season, so we're still unfit really and it was good to get the win. I know it was a late goal from Tonks, but they made it difficult for us.

"They were enthusiastic, they ran about a lot, but we got the win which was the most important thing and now we've got to go out there and try to finish the job."

That job will have to be completed in temperatures of over 30C, but Noble says the Hammers are well equipped to rise to the task.

He continued: "It will be a challenge with the heat. I don't think the game will be as quick was it was the other night because of the heat, but we're looking forward to it.

"It's the Europa League and we want to progress, so hopefully we can go out there and come away with a win.

"We've had to take the games seriously from day one because of the Europa League. We've got six games in qualifying before the season starts, and that's going to be tough but we're looking forward to it."
