Former Wales international Craig Bellamy sealed a £7.5 million move to West Ham United on this day in 2007.
After just one turbulent season at Anfield, the then 27-year-old called it quits as a Red, opting to join forces with Alan Curbishley at the Boleyn Ground. Incidentally, Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun moved in the opposite direction just two days later.
Having made his debut in an opening-day defeat at home to Manchester City, Bellamy broke his Hammers duck at Bristol Rovers, bagging both goals in a 2-1 League Cup win.
Though he struck again in a 3-0 success at Reading soon after, he would endure a season punctuated by injuries, making a total of just seven Premier League starts.
Curiously, Bellamy's most potent spell in claret and blue would ultimately pave the way for his departure. Memorable goals at Chelsea, Portsmouth and former employers Newcastle United piqued the interest of Manchester City's Mark Hughes, clearly keen to renew acquaintances with the once Blackburn Rovers forward,
With just 26 appearances and nine goals for West Ham, Bellamy put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Citizens on 18 January 2009.
