Bilic ready for Posh test

Slaven Bilic is looking forward to taking his first game as West Ham United manager at Peterborough this Saturday

Slaven Bilic is looking forward to taking charge of his new team for the first time when they travel to Peterborough United for a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

Bilic was in the dugout as the Hammers saw off Lusitans on Thursday, but left Academy Manager Terry Westley in control of the team.

At the ABAX Stadium, however, Bilic will take the players who have spent the last week-and-a-half training in Cork and give them their first run out of the summer.

That means the likes of Hammer of the Year Aaron Cresswell, Mark Noble and new signing Pedro Obiang could feature, and Bilic said: “We have a game on Saturday against Peterborough. 99 per cent of that will be from the guys in Cork. Maybe some of the players from Andorra will join us because we have training on Friday afternoon and then we’ll make a squad for Saturday. Of course I’m looking forward to every game.

“It has been an unusual situation having two groups of players in different places over the last couple of weeks.

"I flew back from Ireland on Tuesday, then came to Andorra with the team on Wednesday morning. Terry was in charge for that game but I was with with him, then afterwards we are going to become a proper team. In a normal situation.”

Tickets for Saturday's game are priced at £15 Adults and £5 Under-18s on matchday.
