Our man on the inside lifts the lid on the latest transfer speculation...

All the focus has now switched towards the second leg of the Europa League first qualifying round in Andorra but I can reveal that there is some exciting developments taking place around the Boleyn Ground.

My sources have told me that the Club are very close to making their fourth signing of the summer and hope the player will be ready to sign a contract in the near future.

My understanding is that he was one of the best defenders in Europe last season and will be an exciting new addition to the West Ham United squad.

There have been a lot of stories linking the Club with a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Reports suggest that the former Newcastle midfielder is now set to complete a move to Crystal Palace.

I have been told that the Club were very interested in signing Cabaye, but felt they had greater priority in other positions.

My understanding is when the fourth new signing is announced, the Club will turn their attentions to signing another striker/goalscorer.

The Club are also looking to bring in another highly rated midfielder and hope a loan move will also be finalised by end of the month.
