John Hartson gave the home side the lead on 31 minutes before Neil Shipperly equalised for the Eagles on 42 minutes before Eyal Berkovic struck on the stroke of half-time to send the hosts in ahead.
In the second half David Unsworth and Steve Lomas added a goal each as the Hammers went onto secure a comfortable win which took them up to tenth in the Premier League.
