Lycamobile launches Hammers SIM

Lycamobile, the largest global provider of low-cost international mobile calls, has announced the launch of a bespoke co-branded West Ham United SIM card, which will raise funds for the Club's Community Sports Trust.

West Ham will retail the SIM card at £5, which includes £5 of credit to be used on the Lycamobile network. For every SIM card sold the Trust will receive £2, in addition to ten per cent of all online top ups made during the course of the 2014/15 season. SIM cards are soon to go on sale and will be available from the Stadium Store.

This latest partnership initiative follows hot on the heels of the inaugural Lycamobile Cup, a new youth football tournament which saw a total of 4,500 youngsters participate last season.

Culminating in a thrilling finals day at the Boleyn Ground in May, Redbridge U12s and West Ham United Kicks U14s took the honours, with both sides invited back to feature in the stylised SIM card imagery.

Lycamobile Chairman, Subaskaran Allirajah, commented: "This initiative is another fantastic example of the commitment of both Lycamobile and West Ham United to the local community in which we both operate. We are incredibly proud to see our name alongside such a great club which shares our ongoing dedication to improving the lives of others through sport."

Elsewhere, the Club has also confirmed that winger Matt Jarvis is to succeed Joe Cole as the Community Sports Trust's patron. The 28-year-old, who has long been impressed with the Club's community outreach work, will be lending his support to the multitude of Trust programmes, while making selected special appearances to raise the organisation's profile further still.

Joe Lyons, Head of the West Ham United Community Sports Trust, added: "Following the outstanding success of last season's Lycamobile Cup, I'm thrilled to be working in partnership with Lycamobile once more. I'm sure this new West Ham SIM card will prove a hit with Hammers fans and it is of great credit to everyone involved that our local community will reap the rewards."
