West Ham United's George Moncur played the full 90 minutes as Colchester United lost 3-2 away to Barnsley at Oakwell. Sam Winnall opened the scoring for the hosts after just four minutes before Sanchez Watt equalised.
Second half goals from Conor Hourihane and Peter Ramage were enough to seal the points despite Freddie Sears scoring a consolation goal - his twelfth of the season. Northern Irishman Jamie Harney, who recently joined the U's on loan from West Ham, was an unused substitute.
Sean Maguire played the full game in Accrington Stanley's 1-0 defeat by Carlisle United. Derek Asamoah scored the only goal of the game, leaving Stanley in 15th. Maguire almost equalised late on with a powerful header that was saved by goalkeeper Dan Hanford.
