West Ham United 2-1 Bolton Wanderers
Premier League
11 May 2002

West Ham finished the 2001/02 season on a high after securing a seventh place finish in the Premier League with a 2-1 win against Bolton Wanderers.

The Hammers were on their way to victory shortly before half-time when Steve Lomas fired home the rebound from Jermain Defoe's shot which was parried by Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Bolton offered little going forward but the Trotters managed to equalise in the second half when Youri Djorkaeff's free-kick squirmed past David James.

Last minute drama ensued at the Boleyn Ground when Ian Pearce bundled home Michael Carrick's corner to send the home fans into raptures.
