Norwich City 1-2 West Ham United
FA Cup third round
7 January 2006

West Ham United began their run to the 2006 FA Cup final with a win over Championship side Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The top-flight Hammers took just six minutes to take the lead as Bobby Zamora teed up Hayden Mullins on the edge of the box to slam the ball past Robert Green in the Canaries goal.

Green was culpable for the visitors second when he failed to deal with Matthew Etherington's cross and spilled it to Zamora who nodded home from a couple of yards out.

Wins over Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Manchester City and Middleborough followed before Liverpool proved a step too far in the final as the Hammers lost on penalties.
