West Ham United marked the 15th anniversary of Bobby Moore's passing with a fitting 1-0 win at his former club Fulham.
Nolberto Solano grabbed the winner three minutes before time, the midfielder replacing Julian Faubert after 63 minutes and striking the vital goal when he hooked the ball past Antti Niemi to send the visiting fans into raptures.
The away win saw the Hammers reach the all-important 40-point mark, though West Ham would accumulate just nine more points before the season's end.
All in all, however, after the drama of a final-day escape the previous season, the security of a tenth-place finish was a more-than satisfactory return.
