Marlon Harewood opened the scoring with eleven minutes played when he reacted quickest to turn the ball home following a lucky bounce off Kenny Cunningham.

Dean Ashton stoops to head the third Hammers' goal past Maik Taylor

The striker doubled both his and his team's tally just after the hour mark when he tucked away the rebound after seeing his penalty saved.

Fellow frontman Dean Ashton applied the gloss to a superb home win when he nodded home at the back post from Yossi Benayoun's flick-on.
