Vice-Chairman made life peer

West Ham United Vice-Chairman Karren Brady CBE has this morning accepted a peerage from Her Majesty's Government.

Ms Brady, who became a CBE in HM The Queen's New Year's Honours list and is also the Conservatives' Small Business Ambassador, will now sit in the House of Lords while continuing her role as Vice-Chairman of the Club.

Following Friday's announcement, Ms Brady spoke of her desire to continue to support British business and the cause of women at work.

"I feel honoured and proud to have been invited to serve in the House of Lords as a working peer," Ms Brady confirmed.

"I have a long-held passion for championing the causes of British business and women in the workplace and these will be two key areas of focus for me in this new role."

Everyone at West Ham United would like to congratulate the Vice-Chairman on her latest honour.
