Nick Haycock believes the Development Squad's fine form can last all season after watching them continue their good start with a 1-0 win against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
The young Hammers made it four wins from their first six games thanks to George Moncur's third goal in as many games.
The midfielder struck the winner after 15 minutes to follow up his wonder goal against Manchester City and leave his coach in a buoyant mood.
Haycock told West Ham TV: "As long as the boys keep working hard on the training pitch and keep pushing themselves to the limit in games then hopefully our good form can last all season.
"We should have scored more goals than we did today. You can't get closer than hitting the post twice and having one cleared off the line.
"We coped very well with the aerial threat they had and on the counter attack we should have finished off the game a lot earlier than we did, but if you keep a clean sheet one goal is always enough."
Moncur and the outstanding Blair Turgott were at the centre of what was the perfect away performance.
Both showed their attacking threat whilst displaying great maturity to nullify their opponents and help see the game out as they picked up all three points.
The pair were earmarked for special praise from Haycock, who believed the whole team could be proud of their performances.
"You can go across the team today from the defenders through to the forwards I was pleased with everyone.
"I thought Danny Whitehead had a good game today, Kieran Sadlier was playing well before I took him off to give Matthias Fanimo another 30 minutes as he continues his comeback from injury.
"I have to say I think it was Blair Turgott's best performance of the season and between him and Moncur they were a good outlet for the team, they all deserve a pat on the back for their performances."
Turgott made his return to the starting eleven having previously watched from the bench against Manchester City and Newcastle in the squad's previous two fixtures.
Haycock believes that making Turgott sit on the sidelines for those two games has helped the winger.
"Sometimes you have to take players out of the starting line-up for a while in order to be a benefit to them in the long run. And that's part of Blair growing up as a footballer.
"This is the real world now and if you don't perform to the levels you're capable of then you won't be in the team when you're in a good squad.
"It's a healthy squad at the minute and obviously we were missing Elliot who's with the first team today and the only injury we have at the moment is Paul McCallum who's showing signs that he'll be available again soon."
The performance was even more impressive given the fact that the Development Squad were without top-scorer Elliot Lee who was selected for the first team.
The match showed just how much talent Haycock has on his hands and the coach was pleased that the team are continuing to learn and improve.
"A lot of teams play possession football but I think we're at our best when we're playing in the opposition's half and creating goalscoring opportunities.
"If you look at all our games we get into the penalty area far more than the opposition do and that's always going to give us a chance to win a game of football.
"They have to keep their feet on the ground and as I've just said to them in the changing room, work hard, show intelligence and learn everyday then the world will be your oyster as a footballer."
