Maiga exclusive on West Ham TV

Modibo Maiga has expressed his delight at sealing his move to West Ham United from Ligue 1 club FC Sochaux-Montbeliard.

The forward has signed a four-year deal with the Hammers and instantly revealed his desire to impress the fans and contribute to the team.

Speaking to West Ham TV, the 24-year-old spoke of his pride at joining a club with such an illustrious history, admitting he cannot wait to show the fans what he can do.

"I know West Ham United is a huge club," said the Mali international. "It is well respected in England and it's a club that represents big tradition. It's a family club and I know some but names that have been here so I'm excited and proud to be part of the new team.

"My personal goal is to be part of the collective adventure. I would like to bring my personal experience to this club in order to keep the club in the Premier League, and make a good personal impression."

Maiga also paid tribute to his time in France, believing that he can use his previous experience during five seasons with Le Mans UC 72 and Sochaux to drive the Hammers forward.

"During my time in France I learnt a lot, I also spent some time in Morocco too. I've experimented a lot, but it's mainly my time in France that has given me this great opportunity.

"I will always give 100 hundred percent as a player, I want to show people I can score goals, I am used to doing that and I want to give my maximum to this club."
